Hunan University is originated from the Yuelu Academy, which was founded in 976 AD. It is known as the ‘Millenarian Academy, Centennial University’. The University has maintained its traditional culture and famously high standards in education, from 976 AD till now.
Today’s Hunan University is a key comprehensive university, with strong academic links to 160 universities and research institutes across the world. More than 300 experts come to the University every year, along with exceeds 1,000 overseas students from over 90 countries. The University has also helped establish the most overseas Confucius Institutes among universities in Hunan province: Colorado State University, University of Regina and Honam University.
